Time has come to make a decision about the future of Neighborhood Bread Co. and the time is now to hit the pause button. In 2011, we set out to see if there was a need for fresh bread in the Boyne City and greater Lake Charlevoix area. We joined the awesome Boyne City Farmers Market that summer and the Charlevoix Farmers Market the following year. It wasn't long before we new this could happen. However, as everyone knows (or will learn eventually), timing is everything. And with our young family, we simply felt the need to enjoy our time together now - more than opening a bakery from scratch (pun intended) would allow. If it were 10 years ago, or 10 years from now, things would be different...
So, what did we learn? A lot. We learned Boyne City (our home) is ripe for a small, village bread bakery. We learned it is a lot of work and time to bake great bread. We're going to miss the (farmers) market dearly and all the great vendors. We also hope to stay involved and are excited about it's future. We're going to miss our "neighbors."
If anyone would like to pick up where we left off, or has any questions, please feel free to get in touch!
Love, Erica & Dan
